Carrying out a carbon assessment to know your emissions at a given moment and to meet regulatory obligations is good; using this carbon balance as a starting point to structure a climate action plan based on a carbon emissions reduction objective is better!
In any case, this is the position of Vulcain Services and that is why, like the results of our 2021 scope 3 carbon assessment, we have built a 3-part action plan to reduce our carbon emissions by 4%/FTE in 2023 (vs 2021).
In 2023, we will therefore work actively to:
- Reducing carbon emissions from our activities, in particular the emissions related to our vehicle fleet by continuing our electrification process, to our car rentals by negotiating with our rental companies attractive rates for electric vehicles, and to the purchases of professional telephones made available to our teams by offering them refurbished devices
- Raise awareness among our employees about the climate issue, during a CSR onboarding based on the completion of a personal carbon assessment, during our traditional monthly exchanges on a climate subject carried out by an internal or external expert (conferences, round tables, talks, etc.), and for the first time this year, during Climate Fresque organized every quarter by our duly trained employees
- Improving our carbon accounting, in particular by developing tools to measure the carbon emissions of our projects and our business trips and by involving our largest suppliers in this approach
