So this morning, to better understand the links between climate and biodiversity, through a concrete illustration, that of coral, the Vulcain Group received the association The Coral Planters, whose mission is to preserve, develop and document coral reefs to limit the impact of climate change.
“Because it contributes to rising water temperatures, ocean acidification, deoxygenation, and ocean stratification, climate change is one of the five causes of coral reef extinction, along with overexploitation of resources and pollution. But you have the power to change things by mobilizing individually and collectively! Like your company, which asked us for this intervention and which is currently studying, through your Patronage Committee, the financing of a feasibility study for a coral restoration project in Madagascar.” Amélie Carraut, The Coral Planters
Thank you to all our collaborators for their presence and active participation in this event and thanks to the association The Coral Planters for highlighting the effects of climate change on the preservation of coral reefs and all the concrete solutions presented to allow us to act individually and collectively in favor of the protection of marine biodiversity.
