In 2022, after having carried out its scope 1 and 2 carbon assessment (i.e. on direct emissions) over the years 2019 and 2020, Vulcain Services carried out its scope 3 carbon assessment (i.e. on direct and indirect emissions) for the year 2021.

Unsurprisingly, this analysis revealed that scope 3 accounted for 98% of the company's annual greenhouse gas emissions. And more concretely, the top 3 of the main Vulcain emissions items are:
- Purchases, at 45%, because they are mainly accounted for in cash flows and not in physical flows
- Commuting home - work of employees, at 21%
- Business travel of employees, at 13%
In support of the conclusions of this assessment, Vulcain Services is currently working to define a goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions for the year 2023, and on the action plan that will make it possible to achieve this objective.
* The assessment was carried out using the GHG Protocol method.
