Faced with the increasing saturation of the Paris public transport network, the extension of line 14 is a strategic necessity. This extension to Saint-Denis Pleyel to the north and Orly airport to the south responds to the expected increase in traffic, especially for the 2024 Olympic Games, and is part of an environmental approach aimed at reducing pollution and car traffic. The challenge is significant: to carry out large-scale work in a dense environment while guaranteeing an optimal level of safety and reliability. RATP, the project owner, coordinates numerous stakeholders (civil engineering, electromechanics, design offices), each of which has an essential role in the success of the project. It is in this context that Vulcain Engineering intervenes to provide its expertise in project management, control risks and integrate cutting-edge technical solutions. The final objective is to offer an efficient and modern transport alternative, alleviating congestion in the capital and improving the quality of life of Ile-de-France residents.
RATP wanted a partner capable of managing the extension of line 14 within tight deadlines and with maximum safety, without disrupting ongoing operations. It was also a question of optimizing the performance of the network: increasing transport capacity, reducing travel times and offering increased comfort to users. Vulcain therefore had to provide expertise in project management, coordinate different teams and take into account demanding environmental and regulatory issues.
Respect tight deadlines to welcome users before the 2024 Olympic Games.
Maintain safety and operational continuity on an existing rail network.
Optimize comfort and capacity, while integrating innovative technical solutions.
The mission of Vulcain Engineering is to orchestrate the actors involved (RATP, civil engineering companies, subcontractors), in order to guarantee the coherence of operations and the control of risks. The Vulcain team ensures strict planning, adapted to urban constraints and regulatory requirements. Thanks to technical innovations, particularly in the fields of civil engineering and electromechanics, Vulcain contributes to improving the reliability of the network while respecting environmental commitments. This global approach makes it possible to meet the challenges of a large-scale project.
Effective coordination of multiple stakeholders for a smooth progress of the site.
Proactive risk management, guaranteeing safety and performance on a daily basis.
Integration of innovations in civil and electromechanical engineering to modernize the infrastructure.
