background

The T13 tram-train extension project between Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Achères is part of a regional strategy for the development of sustainable and multimodal mobility. The infrastructure, which combines the technical specificities of the tramway and the railway, involves a high level of complexity. Vulcain works alongside SNCF Réseau to provide project management assistance covering all phases of the project, from the preliminary design (AVP) to the end of the guarantee of perfect completion.

The project, with a budget of €361 million, is marked by the coexistence of numerous public and private actors, and by significant programmatic changes. The introduction of an eco-design approach reaffirms the environmental ambition of the project.

Customer needs

SNCF Réseau was looking for a partner capable of managing a complex project combining rail and tram infrastructure, with multiple interfaces and strong administrative, technical and environmental constraints. Vulcain responded by providing a global vision, detailed risk management and continuous support until commissioning.

Specificity of the mission

Vulcain provides project management assistance throughout the project cycle: studies, interface management, environmental monitoring, technical coordination, and management of administrative authorizations. The teams also introduced eco-design into the project approach, by integrating the project owner's CSR objectives and regulatory constraints.
