background

The rapid evolution of industrial technologies is forcing bioproduction to rethink its manufacturing methods in order to gain flexibility, quality and sustainability. This smart factory 4.0 project meets these requirements by transforming all production processes. The installation is based on advanced engineering combining biofermenters, tangential filtration and chromatography skids, with an aseptic connection provided by docking stations, “plug & produce” connectors and mobile partitions.

The solution integrates a manufacturing execution and automation system to control all operations in real time. In addition, innovations such as the digital twin for process simulation, autonomous robots dedicated to logistics, a control tower equipped with IoT and real-time sensors as well as e-CQV and virtual reality tools for training reinforce performance. The project also integrates optimized management of water, energy and waste consumption, while ensuring high quality, data integrity and strict contamination control, all within a sustainable framework with a commitment to carbon neutrality.

Customer needs

The customer expects a radical transformation of its bioproduction processes by relying on an intelligent factory that offers agility, efficiency and sustainability. The solution should allow operational flexibility to manufacture several biological products, reduce the environmental footprint through a commitment to carbon neutrality and optimize resource management (water, energy, waste). In addition, the system must guarantee high production quality, ensure perfect data integrity and control the risks of contamination while promoting a reliable increase in power via digital tools and a mentoring program.

Specificity of the mission

The mission is to implement a global transformation of bioproduction by deploying an intelligent factory that combines flexibility and high performance. It includes the engineering, commissioning, qualification and maintenance of critical equipment — such as biofermenters, filtration systems, and chromatography skids — as well as the integration of aseptic and automation technologies. The use of 4.0 innovations (digital twin, autonomous robots and IoT control towers) ensures the optimization of time and resources, while guaranteeing the quality and sterility of processes.
