background

The existing production line is unable to achieve the required production guarantees in terms of contamination control and compliance with NEP/SEP standards. In this context, Enough Food wishes to benefit from an in-depth study conducted by Vulcain Engineering to design an improved process design. The intervention covers all operational aspects: revision of processes, updating of NEP/SEP stations, optimization of utilities as well as the electricity and instrumentation part, and finally the associated civil work. The deliverables include an optimized design of the process, the updating of the P&ID and the 3D model, the definition of a nomenclature for the integration of the main equipment as well as an overall estimate of the project with a margin of ± 20% on the budget, schedule and scope. This project, with a budget of €300k and involving a team of 7 employees, will make it possible to correct current shortcomings and prepare the project to move on to the design phase with the implementation of “quick wins” actions on the first line.

Customer needs

The customer is looking for a solution to remedy the shortcomings of the current production line. The mission should provide an improved process design that guarantees sterility, efficiency and control of energy consumption, while complying with NEP/SEP standards. The basic engineering dossier should provide a comprehensive framework for the transition to the design stage, including detailed deliverables and a robust budget estimate to secure the investment and future “quick win” implementations.

Specificity of the mission

The mission is to redefine the production process by focusing on improving sterility and performance. The aim is to revisit basic engineering to identify the weak points of the existing line and propose a design that integrates technical updates (P&ID, 3D model) and the integration of strategic equipment. The production of a reliable global estimate also makes it possible to validate the transition to the design phase and to prepare immediate corrective actions on the first line.
